This method has been initiated and developed by Harvard-trained Dr. Andrew Weil, and it include managing your breathing to various counts of 4, 7, and 8.

What is the method 4, 7 and 8?

It’s easy to do. You inhale through your nose for four seconds, hold it for seven seconds, and exhale through your mouth for eight seconds. Continue repeating this as many times as you need to fall asleep. This designed breathing pattern slows down your heart rate and you’ll fall asleep in several seconds. This elevates your heart rate, and can make you feel jittery and unwell. It makes you breathe rapid and shallow. But, using this breathing method, you counteract the natural effects of adrenaline and your body is forced to slow down your heart rate.

Moreover, this method efficiently lowers the heart rate and it releases soothing chemicals in the brain relaxing and allowing the brain to rest. What’s more, it’s also very beneficial for several other health problems too. However, is not guaranteed that this breathing technique will work for everyone but it is worth the try .At the beginning, you may feel unpleasant. After a short period of time, you really do feel your heart rate slow and your mind clear and more straightforward without a cloud in the sky.
