Rice is a traditional beauty ingredient that’s been passed down through the generations. It can definitely bring moisturizing and anti-inflammatory benefits to the skin. For centuries, Asian women have used rice water to beautify their face, body, and hair.
Traditionally, female rice farmers in China, Japan, and other Southeast Asian countries used to bathe and wash in the water used for cleaning rice. The next time you make rice, don’t throw away the water! It turns out it’s one of the cheapest ways to pamper your skin.
For the skin, rice water is said to be an inexpensive, effective beauty balm for cleansing, toning and lightening hyper pigmentation, sun and age spots.
Many say you can see and feel results after a single use. Helping with smoothing texture, hyperpigmentation, and a porcelain finish, rice water illuminates, firms and tightens skin to appear refreshed and reduces pore size, leaving a powdery, soft feeling behind.
